The 2nd SIRAD Workshop
The 2nd SIRAD Workshop will be held:
WHERE: at the INFN National Laboratory of Legnaro (LNL);
WHEN: 1st-2nd April 2004.
The workshop is open to all interested researchers and scientists.

Purpose and Organization of the Workshop
The 2nd SIRAD Workshop is dedicated to the study of radiation effects (bulk damage, total dose and single events) in detectors, electronic devices and systems for Space and High-Energy Physics applications. The purpose of the Workshop is to continue and increase the stimulating interaction within Universities, Institutes, Industries and Companies operating in the Italian Radiation Effects Community and to be a starting point for new collaborations with Italian and foreign Institutions.
The Workshop will be organized with the support of:
-INFN Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro;
-Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione, Università degli Studi di Padova;
-Dipartimento di Fisica, Università degli Studi di Padova;
-DIMSAT and DAEIMI, Università degli Studi di Cassino.
The workshop is divided in four main sections:
1) Silicon Detectors;
2) Electronics for Space;
3) Electronics for High-Energy Physics and Astrophysics Experiments;
4) Facilities for Radiation Testing.
Each section will include one invited talk (30 minutes + 10 minutes for questions), which will highlight the future trends of the research activity, and oral presentations (15 minutes + 5 minutes for questions) from University, Institutes and Industrial groups, which will be focused on state-of-the-art research activity.
The presentations of the Workshop, to be prepared in English, will be available on WEB in pdf format after the Workshop.
A round-table meeting and a visit to the irradiation facilities of the INFN National Laboratory of Legnaro is scheduled for the 2nd day of the Workshop.
Practical Details
-No fees are requested to participate to the Workshop.
-A canteen is available at LNL, which serves the lunch at the price of 8.26 Euro. A receipt can be issued for reimbursement purposes.
-The social dinner is scheduled at the end of the 1st day of the Workshop. A receipt can be issued for reimbursement purposes.

Abstract Submission, Workshop Registration and Presentations
1) The deadline for Workshop registration is 15 March 2004: please follow the registration instructions. Take into account that a special authorization for access to the INFN National Laboratory of Legnaro (LNL) is required to participate at the Workshop: only persons, who will send the registration form within 15 March 2004, will obtain the authorization for access to the LNL and to participate at the Workshop.
2) If you are interested to participate at the 2nd SIRAD Workshop as a presenter, please send us also the abstract of your presentation, following the abstract submission instructions. The deadline for abstract submission is 23 February 2004. You will be notified of the acceptance of your presentation before 8 March 2004.
3) The Hotel booking is under your responsibility.
4) The deadline for sending the electronic version of your presentation in Power Point format is 22 March 2004, please follow the presentation instructions.
